“I have conveyed the ill-effects of lights adorning trees several times. We are actually restricting their growth,” he said. He said that many have obliged and stopped the practice with an immediate effect.

In 2010, the activist joined with the Federation of Adyar Residents’ Welfare Association (FEDERA) to serve the society in every possible way. He engages in various issues, including sanitation, street lights and also works along with other government officials to address the grievances.

“After persistent efforts, we got a barricade to fence the bus corridor and ensured the safety of the public. Earlier, the buses were picking up and dropping passengers in the middle of the road,” he said.

In the immediate future, he is planning to take up issues concerning heavy traffic and installation of bus shelters in the neighbourhood.
