Cab driver robbed at knifepoint in Koyambedu
In two cases of robberies reported in the city on Tuesday night, a taxi driver was relieved of Rs 6,000 in Anna Nagar at knifepoint and six sovereign gold was stolen from a woman in Koyambedu.

Taxi driver Prabhu (25), of Maduvankarai near Alandur, had parked his car near AH block in Anna Nagar when three men on a motorbike, wearing helmets, reached the spot and threatened him at knifepoint before robbing him, the police said. Prabhu has lodged a complaint at the Anna Nagar police station.
In the second incident, around 10.30pm, Nagalakshmi (48) a resident of Velachery, was robbed when she was getting onto a bus near the CMBT police station. She was on her way to her daughter’s place in Nerkundram. When she boarded the small bus bound to Maduravoyal Erikarai, a man snatched her sling bag, containing six sovereign gold and cash, and fled the spot, the police said. Nagalakshmi lodged a complaint at the CMBT police station and they are browsing CCTV footages for clues.
