SSN celebrates 19th Graduation Day
SSN College of Engineering, a premier technical and management institute in Tamil Nadu, celebrated its 19th Graduation Day, where the Chief Guest, Professor P. Balaram, Former Director of Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore, conferred degrees on 1,042 students in a ceremony held on the SSN campus.

Congratulating the students, Professor P. Balaram, Former Director of IISc Bangalore said, “The relationship between each students and their institution is a deeply personal one and I would encourage you to think about giving back to the institution that has educated you in your formative years.”
Talking about the significance of research, Balaram further added, “There is a great need for young people to understand multiple phenomenon, to experiment and do research. There is no greater case for research than the fact that it helps one to find answers to questions and in the process of finding those answers, occasionally make great discoveries. You are lucky to be young and have long careers stretching before you. Make the best use of the time you have before you.”
In the academic year 2017-2018, 832 undergraduate, 94 postgraduates and 116 MBA students graduated with flying colours. The graduating batch has 112 rank holders in the level which include Charanya G, a gold medallist from the undergraduate program and three other gold medallists from postgraduate programs. The Management honoured the rank holders with gold and silver medals and certificates.
In 2018, 187 organizations visited the campus with approximately 1,500 offers for SSN students. The prominent companies that recruited students from SSN included Facebook, Google, Apple, Amazon, Goldman Sachs, Bloomberg, Ashok Leyland, Hyundai, Royal Enfield, Dow chemicals, Mu Sigma, L&Tgroup, TVS group, Infosys, TCS and HCL.
Facebook and Apple made the highest offers of Rs 102 LPA and Rs 92.00 LPA respectively (in terms of CTC), to the SSN students. The college has secured a placement record of 93 per cent during the last decade and 25 per cent of graduate students are pursuing higher education in renowned universities across the world, including Harvard University, Oxford University, Stanford University and Carnegie Mellon among many others.
