BPO employee injured in phone snatching bid by three-member gang

The victim was identified as M Fazil Basha (28), a resident of Lathuram Street. The police said that Fazhil Basha, who works as process executive at a BPO centre, was walking on Venkateswar Street towards his house when three men on a bike tried to snatch his iPhone. When he resisted, they attacked him. However, Fasil managed to safeguard his phone. As he shouted for help, the men fled the spot. He later lodged a complaint with the Anna Salai police. A case has been registered and the police have launched a hunt for the suspects. 

Three persons, including a juvenile, was arrested for snatching mobile phones in ICF on Sunday. According to the police, the victim Velu (46) is a resident of Vishnunagar in Retteri. When he was travelling on his bike near the Perambur Railway Hospital, four people on a bike intercepted him, snatched his phone and escaped. 

Based on his complaint, the ICF police registered a case. After investigation, they arrested Dhanigaivel (23) of Mambalam, Manikandan (21) of Sembium and a 17-year-old for snatching Velu’s phone. The mobile phone and two-wheeler were also recovered from them. They have launched a hunt for one more person involved in the case.
