According to police, their victims include Rukmani (75), a resident of Amman Murugan Nagar in Mangadu, who was relieved off her five sovereign chain while she was traveling from Koyambedu to Vadapalani in a share auto-rickshaw in December. In a more recent case reported on March 1, six sovereign gold chain was stolen from Jeenath (53), a resident of Trustpuram at Kodambakkam, when she was riding on a share auto-rickshaw to CMBT on March 1.
