2 men from Madipakkam die in separate road accidents
Two men were killed in two road accidents in Chennai and Kancheepuram on Saturday night. The police identified the deceased as S Bharath (32) and Lakshmanan (55), both from Madipakkam.

S Bharath (32), a resident of Alamelu Nagar, was working in a private company in Guduvanchery. “Bharath was traveling to Chennai Central railway station to pick up his wife, who was returning from Hyderabad, on Saturday night around 10pm. When he was neared Anna flyover at Teynampet, a mini truck hit him. Despite wearing a helmet, Bharath died on the spot, the police said.
The Pondy Bazaar traffic police have registered a case and arrested the truck driver, Muthukumar (29) from Kilpauk.
In the second incident, around 10.30pm on Saturday, Lakshmanan (55), a resident of Ram Nagar, was traveling towards Kancheepuram when he lost control of his vehicle.
“When he was on Chengalpattu Bypass Road near Pazhaveli, he lost control of the motorbike and rammed a median,” a police officer said.
Lakshmanan was thrown off the bike and died on the spot. The Chengalpattu Town police have registered a case and sent the body to Chengalpattu Government Hospital for post-mortem examination.
