Customs officials seize US dollars worth Rs 13.5L concealed in passenger’s footwear

The officials were checking the passengers who were about to board a flight to Dubai on Wednesday night. On suspicion, they picked up Mohammed Gouse  (34) from Chennai. The officials took him to a separate room and since they found nothing,  they let him go. Then, officials from the Air Intelligence Unit, who were observing Mohammed Gouse, found his  walking style suspicious and intercepted him. When they checked his footwear, they found bunch of US dollars concealed inside them. The officials found the money was unaccounted and seized the currencies worth Rs 13.5 lakh and detained him for further inquiry.
