Teacher arrested for molesting Class 9 girl

The Tambaram all-women police, who made the arrest, said that the accused was identified as Arun Kumar. He was the computer science teacher in the school that is located in the outskirts of the city. 

According to sources, Arun Kumar allegedly touched the 14-year-old girl inappropriately and kissed her on Friday. She informed her parents about the incident on Sunday. 

“When her parents asked her to do the computer science homework on Sunday, she started crying. When they questioned her, the girl told them that the teacher misbehaved with her on Friday,” the police said. 

Based on a complaint by the girl’s father, a case was registered at the Tambaram All-Women Police Station (AWPS). Following an investigation, the police arrested Arun Kumar under the section 8 (physical contact without penetration) of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. He was then remanded in judicial custody.
