Absconding HR and CE official arrested by Idol Wing
An absconding HR and CE official, who was the executive officer of the Thirupparaithurai Tharugavaneshwarar Temple in Tiruchy, was arrested by Idol Wing investigators in connection with suspected idol thefts in 2017. The arrested official was identified as Anandakumar Rao.

He had allegedly sold an antique idol of Ankala Amman from the temple with the help of two other temple staff, identified as Ramanathan and Kannan.Â
After selling the idol, the three had replaced it with a new idol, noted a press release. For this, they had used other antique items from the temple. Two other idols of Bogasakthi amman and Sandigeswaran, were also reported missing from the temple two years ago.
Idol Wing sleuths had earlier arrested Ramanathan and Kannan while Ananda Kumar Rao was absconding for the past seven months. Kannan had confessed that the other two had forced him to create fake documents to conceal the crime.
Anandakumar Rao would be produced before a designated court in Kumbakonam, press release added further.
