The Reap Benefit Foundation was founded by Kuldeep Dantewadia and Gautam Prakash to transform civic engagement and citizen action in India.

The institution also organised Sarvalokaa Hackathon 2019 on February 1 and 2 in the school campus at Kelambakkam. The inter school event was a platform for students to showcase their solutions to real civic and environmental issues and promote sustainable solutions for a better world.

Around 90 students from 10 schools in Chennai and 1 school from Erode participated in the event. Students were mentored by facilitators from Reap Benefit Foundation and introduced to techniques like Rapid Prototyping, Trigger Mapping, Electronics and Coding.

At the end of the Hackathon, students came up with innovative working prototypes to be incubated further for large scale implementation. A splendid exhibition was organised for the parents and neighbouring community on the second day that displayed all the prototypes the students created.

The team from BVM Global school, Perungudi was awarded the first prize for their idea DIY Mosquito Repellent. The Hiranandani Upscale school won the second place for their idea Solution Network. Seed capitals of Rs 10,000 and Rs 5,000 were given to the first and second place winners respectively.

The closing ceremony saw Vibish Kashyap enlighten the gathering on how he spearheaded a project of the first prototype of a water-less urinal which was later used in 30 government schools in Hosur, thus saving thousands of litres of water daily.

Solution panels were given away to all the participating schools as a token of appreciation. Two special prizes were given to the Alpha International School and PSBB School for their innovative ideas.
