Water overflow from tank at KMCH irks public
Patients and attenders visiting the Kilpauk Medical College and Hospital on Sunday, were shocked to see water overflowing from a tank on the terrace of one of the buildings.

The public was irked by the lack of effort taken by the hospital to avoid the wastage of water.
The run over water formed a puddle outside the waiting area located inside the hospital. “The water continued to overflow for almost half an hour before the hospital administration woke up to fix the problem. We tried to reach out to a staffer to do something about the problem. However, she merely shook her head and left the spot,” said Parvathy S, an attendant to a patient.
Persons trying to enter the waiting shed were troubled as a result of this overflowing water, “There was a lot of noise owing to the water falling onto the shade above the waiting area. It is likely that the staff at the hospital had forgotten to switch off the motor. However, there was no one to take action on our complaint. Eventually, after 20 minutes, staff arrived at the spot to look into the issue,” stated Murugan, another attender.
Having received a number of complaints in this regard, Dean of the Hospital, Dr K Vasanthamani, looked into the matter immediately. “There was a crack in the tank above and was rectified immediately. Steps will be taken to ensure that water is not wasted again.”
