Parvathi’s new collection, The Tropical Paradise, will be unveiled on February 1 and actress Divya Khosla Kumar will be turning showstopper.

The collection is inspired by the tropical jungle with the serene yet striking representation of animals including the elephant, duck, parrots and the lush green in pure zari. A perfect blend of traditional, contemporary and quirky, not only through motifs but also in the techniques used, every design is a piece of art. Parvathi, a textile connoisseur, is driven by her passion for heirloom textiles and her brand represents the beginning of pure and unique weaves. There is a purported play of opposites, where the designer has combined bright jewel hues including reds, pinks, blues, green and softer shades. “Nature has been the best inspiration for designers across industries. My new collection will be showcasing vintage yet contemporary designs in the six-yard wonders, lehengas and anarkalis bearing the hallmark of exquisite craftsmanship, heritage and intricacy. Through my collection, I am trying to bring back the old traditional weaves and handlooms. Inspired by jungle and animals, my new collection is a small initiative to encourage people to save nature and conserve the environment,” shares Parvathi.

Another designer Vaani Raghupathy’s collection, Ayana, will be unveiled on February 2. Ace Indian shuttler Saina Nehwal will be turning showstopper. The collection infuses innovation and freshness of floral, reflected in its motifs, colour palette and placements. “The very ethos of our brand name Magnoliaa is stability and grace through the ever-changing times. It is meant for the woman of today who is strong, yet has a softer side to her. The collection is perfect for the young generation who doesn’t shy away from wearing handloom saris and lehengas for the wedding,” says Vaani.

Saina, on the other hand, is excited to walk to walk the ramp, especially after her marriage. “When Vaani approached me and showed her collection, I was totally in love with it. The way she has worked with colour blocks and pastel hues using immaculate weaving techniques is amazing. I am looking forward to seeing the magic she creates with saris and lehengas on the runway,” says Saina.
