OPS to inaugurate 3-day India International Leather Fair today
The 34th edition of India International Leather Fair (IILF) will be inaugurated by Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam on Thursday.

Indian Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) Executive Director Deepak Kumar, Council for Leather Exports (CLE) Chairman P R Aqeel Ahmed, Dr Francesco Pensabebe, Italian Trade Commissioner, along with the captains of Indian Leather Industry would be part of the three-day event.
Highlighting the export prowess of the Indian leather entrepreneurs, the event will showcase their achievements, the latest technologies and new innovations with an eco-friendly tag.
This year, the theme pavilion ‘Greening the Leather’ was being set up by ITPO, CLE, CSIR and CLRI which will present ‘Spring Summer 2020’.
This year, the fair will also manifest its commitment to various initiatives taken by the Government such as ‘Make in India’, ‘Digital India’, and ‘Swachh Bharat’.
Covering an area of 10,000 sq m, IILF 2019 will feature a wide range of products, machinery and equipment from over 450 companies from India and abroad, while more than 150 exhibitors are taking part from overseas.
Significantly, China, France, Germany, Italy and Brazil were setting up their national pavilions. The fair elicited response from major groups including the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy of Germany, ASSOMAC (Italy), Wenzhou Donnor Exhibition Group (China), G and F Group (China), Splendor Group (China), CICB (Brazil), SGCP (France), ISF, IFLMEA and IFCOMA.
This year, overseas participation was from Bangladesh, Brazil, China, Ethiopia, France, Germany, Iran, Italy, Kenya, Mexico, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Portugal, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Taiwan, Tanzania, Thailand, Turkey, Uganda, UAE and UK.
