Arumugaraj, a traffic constable attached to ICF police station, was manning traffic at Kellys signal when three drunk men started obstructing traffic by throwing empty liquor bottles.

Following this, Arumugaraj confronted them and asked them to vacate the area. However, the three men got into an argument with the traffic constable and began intimidating him.

Arumugaraj alerted the patrol team, which picked up the trio and took them to the police station.

During investigation, they were identified as Samuel Ignatius (21) of Semmanpet and Joshua (19) and Jacob Newton (21).

“Jacob Newton, who works in an IT park in Taramani, came to meet his friends Joshua and Jacob. But after consuming liquor, the trio began creating nuisance, leading to the fracas with the traffic police personnel on duty. All three were arrested and remanded in judicial custody on Wednesday,” said police.
