Six arrested for murder of history-sheeter in Otteri
Six persons were arrested on Sunday for hacking a history-sheeter to death in full public view in Otteri. The murder, which took place on Saturday, was the fallout of previous enmity, said the police.

The accused were identified as C Sathishkumar (25) of Ayapakkam, K Sasikumar (23) of Ambattur, Kathir, Gokul, Saravanan and Monish.
When the deceased, A Dinesh (31) alias Appu of Agaram in Perambur, was returning home around 7.45 pm along with his wife and child on a two-wheeler, a six-member gang intercepted him on Stephenson Road near North Town Bridge. They attacked Dinesh with weapons and hacked him to death in front of his family.
Passers-by, who found a police vehicle parked on the next street, alerted them. The traffic investigation police inspector Shyamala immediately sent a few personnel in her vehicle to the spot. However, the assailants escaped from the spot leaving Dinesh dead in a pool of blood by the time police arrived. After the onlookers told police that the murderers escaped in two auto rickshaws, police chased them and intercepted one of the vehicles. While one of the accused escaped, two persons, identified as Sathishkumar and Sasikumar, were handed over to the Otteri police.
Based on their inputs, the Otteri police nabbed the rest of the accused persons from Ayapakkam. Investigation revealed that, a history-sheeter, threatened the suspects not to present themselves before the court in connection with a case. Fearing that he might kill them, the gang decided to eliminate him. All of them were remanded in judicial custody.
