Two women among seven snatchers held
Seven mobile phone thieves, including two women, were arrested in two separate incidents.

Four men were arrested for allegedly snatching a mobile phone from a woman in Kilpauk. The police said that A Mahalakshmi (24) of Kilpauk was walking towards her residence on Wednesday when four men in an autorickshaw snatched her mobile phone and sped away.
Based on her complaint, the Secretariat Colony police registered a case and went through the CCTV footage in the locality. The four men identified as N Amul Raj (20), S Sathish Kumar (20) and B Rajesh (20) of Vyasarpadi and S Ashok (21) of Pulianthope were arrested on Saturday. The police recovered the mobile phone and also seized the autorickshaw.
In another incident, the police on Friday arrested two women for snatching a 59-year-old woman’s bag at a shop in T Nagar.
The police said that P Shanthi (59), resident of Mandaveli purchased two mobile phones at a store on North Usman Road. While she was leaving the store, someone took her bag from the behind. After Shanthi raised an alarm, everyone inside the shop were detained for checking. Two women, who were in possession of the bag, were handed over to the police. After investigation, the police arrested a man who had sent them to steal the mobile phones. The three were identified as B Angammal (45), S Gowri (29) and N Sathish (22).
