Sky to remain overcast for two days
Pleasant weather is likely to continue in the city for the next two days with the weatherman predicting overcast conditions.

“The change in weather is due to the Northeasterly winds that have strengthened. The winds are picking up moisture from the sea. The occasional rain is due to the winds travelling over the Bay area,” said an on-duty officer in theRegional MetrologicalCentre here.
The maximum temperature in the city is likely to be around 30 degrees Celsius and the minimum 20 degrees Celsius over the next two days. However, dry weather will prevail over the rest of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
In the past 24 hours, Manimutharu in Tirunelveli district received 7 cm of rain, while Papanasam received 4 cm. Rainfall of 3 cm was recorded in Mettupalayam.
At the fag end of the Northeast monsoon season, the State has recorded only 335.1 mm of rainfall against the normal 433.1 mm, registering a rain deficit of 23 per cent.
