R Kasthuri (18) of Guindy, an intern with Blue Cross of India, lodged a complaint at the Manali police station after she received a video of a man attacking a puppy on December 15. In her complaint, Kasthuri had mentioned that she enquired the person who sent her the video and found that that man attacking the puppy was a grocery shop owner in Durgai Avenue in Selavayal. The incident was recorded in the CCTV cameras in the locality.
As the police did not take any action even after the video went viral, Kasthuri lodged another complaint on Monday. After this, a team of police personnel conducted an inquiry and arrested the suspect, who was identified as Murugathirumal.
