Constable booked for attacking son of another policeman
The city police on Friday registered a case against a head constable attached to the Armed Reserve (AR) for allegedly assaulting a teenaged son of another policeman under the influence of liquor in Egmore.

The accused has been identified as head constable Murugesan, a driver and resident of AR quarters in Pudupet.
The Egmore police has registered a case under the IPC sections of 341, 294 (b) and 324 based on a complaint from head constable Raghuraman, who is attached to the intelligence wing. The police said that both the policemen were residing at the quarters with their respective families.
On Thursday night, when the 17-year-old son of Raghuraman was chatting with his friends standing on the ground near his apartment. Murugesan, who was under the influence of alcohol, reached there and started abusing the teenager. He then assaulted the boy with a lathi.
The injured boy has been admitted to the Royapettah Government Hospital while his father lodged a complaint with the Egmore police station regarding the incident.
Based on the complaint, the police registered a case against Murugesan.
