‘Graduates must be honest, imaginative’
Justice Anita Sumant was the chief guest at the 22nd graduation ceremony of SRM Arts and Science College held at Dr TP Ganesan auditorium located in the Kattankulathur campus.

The 22nd graduation ceremony of SRM Arts and Science College witnessed students receiving Madras University ranks and other accolades. It began with TP Ganesan, PRO Vice-Chancellor, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, welcoming the gathering while Paarivendhar, founder-chairman of SRM Group of Institutions, presided over the ceremony.
In his presidential address, he spoke about the importance of placements in the colleges and emphasised on the importance of “honesty, imagination and hard work.”
Anita Sumanth, Judge, Chennai High Court, was the chief Guest and she presented the Graduation Day Address. She spoke about various aspects of life and stated that, “Education and exposure have blurred the lines between genders,” adding that the students must go on to “touch the lives” of people around them.
K Subburam, principal, SRM Arts and Science College, delivered the Annual Report and cited the achievements of students in the academic year. He announced that more than 85 students secured Madras University Ranks making the college proud. He said that one student, KR Jaikumar, was awarded the Gold Medal in BSc Hotel and Catering Management course by the University of Madras.
He further revealed that free education was extended to 57 students during the academic year (2017-18), and a fee concession was given to 107 students by the management in the same year.
Moreover, he added that the college has seen 100 per cent placement consistently for the past five years, and that the college has a very effective placement cell for campus recruitment. “SRM Arts and Science College is a citadel of Excellence,” he said.
