Man smashes wife’s head

The victim, Bhuveneshwari, picked up a fight with her husband Mohan, who had consumed alcohol, demanding money to pay their son’s college fee. In a fit of rage, Mohan smashed his wife’s head with a stone when she was sleeping and escaped from the scene, said police.

The couple’s sons saw their injured mother and rushed her to a private hospital in K K Nagar. Later, she was referred to the government hospital where she is undergoing treatment. A case has been registered by the Guindy police and further investigations are on. Police said that Mohan works in the housekeeping department at of private company.
