    History-sheeter abducted, car found with bloodstain

    A 25-year-old history-sheeter who was released on bail two weeks ago was kidnapped from Mamandur on Sunday by an unidentified gang. Police said the car he was kidnapped in was found abandoned in Urapakkam with blood stains and they are investigating.

    Police said the victim, identified as Sridhar, had been staying in Mamandur fearing attack from his rivals. Around 5 pm on Sunday, a group of men in a car reached the house where he was staying in Mamandur car and kidnapped him.


    Neighbours who witnessed the incident informed police control room and all the police stations were alerted to look out for a white Tata Sumo. Meanwhile, the Guduvancherry police received information around 7 pm that a Tata Sumo was found abandoned in Urapakkam, off National Highway 45.


    When police rushed to the spot, they noticed blood stains on the car, but there was no one present. Police suspect that it could be the same car in which Sridhar was kidnapped. Police are also investigating if Sridhar was involved in the murder of former Urapakkam village panchayat president U K Perumal.
