Policeman’s wife booked in cheating case
The city police have registered a case against a 45-year-old woman, wife of a traffic policeman, for not repaying money to a chit fund company for which she was working.

The police said that T Vasanthi, a resident of Poonamallee, while working for a private chit fund had collected money from several investors to deposit in the company. However, she allegedly failed to hand over the amount to the company for the past few months.
The Poonamallee police registered a case based on a complaint from Uma Maheswari, one of the directors of the chit fund company, under IPC sections for cheating (IPC 420) and breach of trust (IPC 406). Further investigation is on.
