Gayathri picked up argument with police

While the traffic police personnel attached to Abiramapuram police station were involved in a vehicle check on Dr DGS Dinakaran Salai at MRC Nagar, they noticed a luxury sedan speeding towards Foreshore Estate. They intercepted the car and found Gayathri Raguramm behind the wheel.

When they asked her to get down, she allegedly picked up an argument with the police personnel. When they inquired if she had consumed liquor, she reportedly abused the police personnel and told that they are the ones drunk while being on duty.

Finally, the police personnel managed to get her out of the car and made her blow into breathalyser. As the readings confirmed that Gayathri was inebriated, they advised her not to drive the car and sent a constable to drop her at her house. She was booked for drunk driving and fined, said the police.

Gayathri Raguramm, daughter of famous choreographer Raguramm, rose to fame after acting in a couple of movies such as Charlie Chaplin. She joined BJP in 2014 and was appointed as the secretary for the party’s state wing (arts). She became a familiar face after she participated in the first season of reality show Bigg Boss hosted by Kamal Haasan. Actor Jai has been caught twice for drunk driving and his licence was recommended for suspension. Director Bharathiraja’s son Manoj too was caught for driving the vehicle under the influence of alcohol earlier this year.
