Shop gutted in Madhavaram, role of burglars suspected
After spurned lovers, here comes the spurned burglars. Investigating an early morning fire that broke out at a store in Madhavaram that sells toys and cosmetics, the police are suspecting that it could be the handiwork of burglars who were apparently disappointed that their effort to break into the shop yielded nothing of value.

Around 10.30 pm on Tuesday, the shop owner, Sheik Mohammed of Madhavaram, had locked the shop after concluding the business for the day and went home as has been his routine. However, around 3 am, he received informed that a fire had broken out inside his shop. He alerted fire control room and rushed to the spot.
It took about an hour for the Fire Service personnel from Madhavaram station to put out the fire completely.
However, products worth several lakhs of rupees were already damaged by the fire.
Though most such incidents are triggered by short circuit, the twist in this case came to light after the Madhavaram police, who registered a case, began preliminary inquiry. They found that miscreants had attempted to burgle the shop, and it could have been them who set it on fire after failing to find any cash.
This was not the only disappointment for the night for the as-yet-unidentified thieves, whose attempt to steal from a mobile phone showroom in the locality, too, ended in vain, said police.
CCTV footage have been collected to identify them and further inquiry is on, said the police.
