Woman dies of electrocution, 2 men injured

A 28-year-old woman died after being electrocuted while two men suffered burn injuries at a construction site near Anagaputhur on Tuesday. The deceased was identified as Selvi, a construction worker from Villupuram.

The olice identified the injured as Parasuraman and Manikandan, also from Villupuram. The police said that Ghulam Asad, a resident of Anna Nagar in Anagaputhur was carrying out additional construction works on the second floor of his house. The workers from Villupuram used to stay at the site. On Tuesday morning while working, Selvi picked a steel ladder and it came on contact with the overhead electric cable. She suffered severe burn injuries. Her co-workers tried to save her but they also suffered burn injuries. The police rushed the injured to a hospital.
