    CCTV cameras stolen from Pallavaram

    Residents of in an apartment at Barath Nagar in Keezhkatalai near Pallavaram were in for a rude shock on Monday morning after they noticed that the CCTV cameras, that they had installed to discourage miscreants, were stolen from the premises.

    They approached the Madipakkam police immediately after which the police checked the footage stored in the cameras’ hard drive to find two masked men entering the building around 1.30 am. They used the pipelines to climb and remove the CCTV cameras.


    The police said that last month, CCTV cameras were stolen from another house within the same locality. They suspect that the cameras were removed by miscreants planning a robbery or some other crime in the area.


    A case has been registered the police is trying to identify the two men using the CCTV footage. In the meantime, they have asked residents in the area to stay alert.
