    Ashton Paul, Space enthusiast

When kids his age show an inclination towards cartoons and games, Ashton’s interest centred around the solar system and planets ever since he came across a space song on YouTube at the age of 1.5 years. “I aim to become an astronaut, discover a planet and name it after myself. Now that all our natural resources are consumed, I want to find more habitable planets in order to sustain human life form,” the young boy tells us. Once his parents realised the boy’s passion for space, they provided him with all the necessary materials. A student of Hindustan International School, Guindy, Ashton is the youngest winner of many space quiz competitions conducted in the city. Moreover, he never fails to upgrade himself on all the latest information available on his favourite subject.

    Ananya V Ganesh, Author
She started writing poems and short stories at the age of 7. And since then, Ananya’s world has been all about fantasies and poems. She was different from the rest and highly creative. “My parents used to narrate bedtime stories to me and that’s how I entered the world of literature. I never wanted to hear a regular fairytale, but always preferred stories that helped me imagine. Now that I read, I like fiction and select books to read based on the author and genre. My current favourites include Enid Blyton and Kate Messner,” says the 12-year-old. Ananya published her first book — 9 Chocolatey Bites — at the age 10, of which the cover design and other illustrations were done by her. “I never set a time to write. Whenever an idea strikes me, I scribble it in my book, be it at school or at home.” She is currently penning an anthology of poems and a fiction.

    Samanvita Bellur Raghavendra, Keyboard player
This 6-year-old from Chennai is such an expert in keyboards that if she listens to a song once, she can reproduce a couple of lines even without knowing the exact notes. Blessed with a sharp memory power, Samanvita is even capable of remembering 90 countries and their capitals. Oozing with passion, she found her first keyboard teacher at the school, from whom she learned the basics. “After seeing her enthusiasm, we decided to buy her a keyboard and she started playing it without any guidance. One or two years down the lane, we would like to enroll her in a formal music class, where she can get trained from a professional,” says Deepa, mother of Samanvita.
