Three killed in road accidents in suburbs
Two people were killed in separate road accidents reported in Poonamallee and Madhavaram on Wednesday night.

In an accident at Madhavaram, N Sarath Kumar (26), resident of Madhavaram, was killed after a gas tanker truck rammed his bike on Grand North Truck Road. The pillion rider M Venkataraman (29), also a resident of Madhavaram, suffered injuries in the accident. The Madhavaram traffic investigation wing police registered a case and arrested the tanker driver S Selvakumar (31) of Salem. He was booked under the IPC Section 304 (A) (death caused due to negligent driving).
In another accident reported at Poonamallee, 41-year-old woman Fathima, who was riding pillion, died while her son who was riding the bike escaped with minor bruises, as the bike got into a pothole near MTC bus depot on Chennai-Poonamallee highway on Wednesday night. The injured woman was rushed to a hospital, where the doctors examined and declared her dead on arrival.
