City siblings offer customised wildlife tours
Merchant Navy engineer, Swarup Kumar was interested in wildlife and when he shared his passion with his brother Karthik, the latter suggested starting an exclusive club for exploring wildlife.

“Karthik and I have travelled to Tadoba Wildlife Sanctuary, Maharashtra and Gir National Park, Gujarat. During our journey, we observed how travel agents plan things in a professional manner, but in a very expensive way. Many think that wildlife expedition is an expensive affair and we wanted to change the notion. We thought of initiating something on our own and founded Naturographers,” says Swarup Kumar.
The brothers organise wildlife expeditions and create awareness on conserving nature. “We don’t work like a travel agency where they take bulk bookings. We have limited the number of participants to three or four. This helps in cutting down the expenses and helps people to explore without any distractions. We speak to people who approach us and find out if they really are interested to explore nature and wildlife. Our first trip was to Bandipur Reserve Forest with three people. The travel is not just about wildlife and forests, but also about conservation as well. One of the main challenges is booking the safari in advance,” the Merchant Navy officer says.
Before heading out for an adventure, they also seek the help of forest rangers and local authorities.
