Two killed as tanker knocks down bike at Sriperumbudur
Two men who were on their way to work on motorbike were killed after a tanker lorry knocked them down at Kancheepuram on Thursday night.

The deceased were identified as Thirumalai (25) and Rahman (26). The duo from Arakkonam in Vellore were working at a private company near Sriperumbudur, said police. According to the police, the two used to travel together on Rahman’s two-wheeler every day.
The accident took place on Thursday, as they were on their way to office for the night shift. They were on the Sriperumbudur-Tambaram Road when an unknown tanker lorry fatally knocked them down, the police added.
Thirumalai died on the spot, while Rahman suffered grievous injuries despite wearing a helmet. Rahman was rushed to the Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital, where he succumbed to injuries without responding to the treatment after a few hours.
The Sriperumbudur police have registered a case and are trying to trace the tanker lorry involved in the accident.
