College student drowns off Marina beach

D Premkumar of Ayanavaram, a first-year B Com student, had come to the beach with six others. While they were swimming in the sea behind the Labour statue, Premkumar was suddenly dragged in by a wave. Even as his friends searched for him, Premkumar’s body washed ashore later. The Anna Square police sent the body to Omandurar government hospital for post-mortem examination. A case has been registered.
