Former security guard held, 8 bikes recovered

The police arrested a 36-year-old bike thief and seized as many as eight two-wheelers that were his possession. The accused, D Robert Kennady of Ambedkar Nagar in Pulianthope, recently quit his security guard job and started stealing bikes in Anna Nagar, Otteri and Pulianthope using fake keys. Robert Kennady was arrested when police were searching the suspect, who rode away the bike of S Praveenkumar (21) of Otteri, on October 19. The bike was stolen in a broad daylight when Praveenkumar had gone into a shop on Strahans Road. Police are trying to find out the owners of the rest of the bikes based on the complaints they have received.
