Murder accused hacked to death, two men surrender
A 28-year-old man was hacked to death by a 10-member gang on Friday. Siva from Teynampet was an accused in three murder cases; police suspect that he could have been murdered over previous enmity.

Around 11 pm on Friday, when Siva was walking alone along South Canal Bank road at Mandaveli, the gang surrounded and hacked him, leaving him dead on the spot.Â
Passers-by alerted police, who sent his body to Government Royapettah Hospital for autopsy. On Saturday, his kin staged protest seeking the arrest of his girlfriend Lakshmi.Â
The Foreshore Estate police picked up S Lakshmi (35) of Mandaveli, M Sivakumar (39) of Mylapore, V Rajesh and N Appu of Kodambakkam for interrogation, while T Raja (34) of Vadapalani and D Ajithkumar (29) of Kodambakkam surrendered before Kotturpuram Assistant Commissioner KN Sudharshan.Â
