Police said that Rani, who plays a prominent role in the serial Nandini, reached a textile showroom on GNT Road in Red Hills, where they had to shoot a sequence. Suddenly, a quarrel erupted between her and actor Shanmugasundaram, who plays her husband in the serial. The serial director Rajkapoor and other crew members intervened and tried to pacify them but in vain.
Rani went to the Red Hills police station and lodged a complaint alleging that Shanmugarajan tried to misbehave with her. Shanmugarajan also filed a counter complaint that Rani’s husband Prashanth attacked him, while he was leaving after the shoot. Sources said that the two actors were involved in a quarrel a few days ago but compromised and continued the shoot.
Actress Rani is popular for herthe role of a teacher in Nattamai, in which actor Sarathkumar played the lead role.
