The deceased, Moideen, was a tailor and he worked as a part-time employee in a biriyani shop. Around 9.30 am, Moideen’s mother received a call from her daughter that Moideen was found dead in their house in Kaladipet. Moideen’s mother had gone to Stanley Government Medical College Hospital for an eye check-up, said police.
Moideen’s neck was slit with his own butcher’s knife and his clothes were drenched in blood. As there were no other injury marks on his body and his own knife has been used, police suspect that he could have committed suicide. He did not have previous enmity with anyone, said police. As Moideen’s kin were sure that he would not have committed suicide, police have registered a case of suspicious death and are collecting evidences to find out if he was murdered.
