Gaganyaan, an opportunity for young engineers: ISRO scientist
SSN Institutions, concluded “Invente 3.0”, a two-day tech-fest aimed at encouraging budding engineers to discover hidden interests and enticing technophiles to showcase their talents with unbridled enthusiasm.

The event saw the participation of Dr D Gangadhar, a noted scientist from Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) as its chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr D Gangadhar, Associate Director Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre (LPSC) at ISRO, shared details about ISRO’s upcoming project, “Gaganyaan”, supported by the Government of India, which will send three Indian astronauts for seven days in space, at a cost less than Rs 10,000 crore as part of its manned mission by 2022.
The mission will commence in two years from now and ISRO plans to deploy young engineers to build a rover, which will be sent to the Moon to understand its characteristics. He highlighted that this project will open opportunities for young engineers studying at premier institutions such as SSN to be a part of this once in a lifetime opportunity.
Speaking at the event, Kala Vijaykumar, President, SSN Institutions said, “SSN Created ‘Invente 3.0’, to put ideas into actions; to test abilities and, to turn dreamers into achievers.
“This platform aims to provide a multidisciplinary and holistic learning experience for the young and budding engineers, to help them explore a variety of problem areas and create potential solutions around the same”, she said adding, “Gangadhar helped the students learn about the path-breaking work being done by ISRO and inspire them to work hard and be a part of ISRO’s mission Gaganyaan”.
The two-day festival organized by the students of SSN College of Engineering, witnessed participations from over 20,000 engineering students from across the country. The event featured several workshops and technical and non-technical sessions offering the participating students exposure to all engineering streams under one roof.
