Child missing case: Cops release suspect’s photo
The Kancheepuram police have released the photo of a suspect, who allegedly kidnapped the two-year-old girl, while she was sleeping with her parents near Kalpakkam nearly 10 days ago.

According to police, Venkadesan (30), the child’s father, hails from Pauvnchur in Maduranthagam. He, along with his wife Kaaliammal (25) and daughter Harini (2), used to sell beads and other accessories from a tempo. On September 15 around 1.30 am, Venkadesan realised that Harini, who was sleeping inside the mosquito net, was missing. Following this, Annaikattu police registered a case and launched a search.
Kancheepuram district superintendent of police Santosh Hadimani formed two special teams to find the girl. During the investigation, the special team found that the kidnappers used a two-wheeler to carry out the crime.
On the day of the incident, two men on a bike arrived at the petrol bunk on the Pauvnchur-Annaikattu Main Road. Police said that the pillion rider was waiting on the main road with a small girl on his hand while rider alone came inside the bunk fill petrol. After inquiries with the petrol bunk staff, the police have released the photo of one of the kidnappers taken from the CCTV camera installed in the petrol bunk.
Police, who circulated the picture, have asked the public to call 9498146388 if they knew anything about the incident or the suspect.
