Nadars up in arms against Karunaas, demand his arrest

The protesters who gathered near the residence of Karunaas said the Thiruvadanai MLA was instigating violence between two communities. They left after being pacified by the police. 

Traffic was also disrupted near the Marina beach after members of the Tamil Nadu Nadar Federation burnt the effigy of Karunaas. They members demanded the arrest of the actor for defaming Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami, police and the media. The protesters were detained and let off later. S Ponnusamy of Milk Vendors Association and Kongu Nadu Makkal Desiya Katchi had also demanded the arrest of Karunaas.

Meanwhile, the city police registered cases under eight sections and are investigating the issue. There were also rumours making rounds that the MLA is absconding fearing arrest.
