CoP rewards two personnel for nabbing snatcher

Head constable B Murugan and Home Guard volunteer M Sam Jeyaraj were on a night patrol in Tirumudivakkam on Tuesday when they tried to stop three men on a two-wheeler. As they refused to stop, the personnel chased the trio. Sensing trouble, the gang abandoned the two-wheeler and ran away. 

However, the police personnel managed to secure one of them, who was later identified as Anthony Raj (22) of Pammal, and seized a mobile phone from him. 

Further investigations revealed that they had snatched the phone from a person in the same locality. Police also noted that Anthony Raj is a repeat offender with robbery cases pending against him. 

Appreciating the effort by police personnel, the Commissioner rewarded them at his office on Wednesday.
