    30-yr-old arrested for cheating job aspirants

    A 30-year-old man, who allegedly cheated three men of Rs 50 lakh on the promise of getting them jobs in various government departments, was arrested on Monday.

    The arrested person, K Saran Parthiban of Virugambakkam, projected himself to be very influential and showed photos of him with various ministers to gullible men, who approached him in the hope of getting a government job. 

    He was recently arrested by the Valasaravakkam police in connection with a law and order case and he was visiting the police station till August 4 and went absconding since then. The police received complaints from B Surendrapandian (29) of Choolaimedu, M Harikrishnan (27) of Choolaimedu and M Lakshmi Kandan (29) of Choolai. The victims had stated that they paid money to Saran Parthiban between May and October in 2017. While B Sundaresa Pandian, a software engineer, paid him Rs 16.50 lakh, Lakshmi Kandan paid him Rs 18.50 lakh. 

    Valasaravakkam police arrested Saran Parthiban on Monday night and remanded him in judicial custody.
