Idols come back to the shore at Chennai
On the last day of idol immersion after Vinayagar Chathurthi in the city, about 200 idols were immersed at designated beaches on Monday.

The idol procession reportedly went off smoothly and no untoward incident was reported, said police sources. On Sunday, as many as 2,320 idols of Lord Ganesha that were erected in various places across the city and suburbs, as part of Vinayakar Chathurthi celebrations, were taken out on procession and immersed in water bodies on Sunday.Â
Barring a few incidents, the first-phase of the procession passed off peacefully.
