Female infant found dead
A newborn female child was found dead inside a dustbin near Kannagipuram in Guindy on Sunday night. “On Sunday night, the Corporation staff came to clear the garbage when they spotted a baby wrapped in a cloth. It might have been born just a few hours ago and its umbilical cord was intact,” said a police officer.

They alerted the Guindy police, who recovered the body and sent it to Royapettah Government Hospital for post-mortem examination. A senior police officer said that two special teams have been formed to nab the culprit. A team is also scanning CCTV footage retrieved from the locality. A case has been registered and further investigation is on.
