    SRM emerges overall winners at CIYF

    The second edition of Chennai International Youth Festival (CIYF) that took place from September 1 to 16 at various venues across the State concluded with a prize distribution ceremony on Sunday at Jawaharlal Nehru stadium.

    The ceremony was graced by C Vijaya Baskar, Minister for Health and Family Welfare, KP Anbazhagan, Minister for Higher Education and P Balakrishna Reddy, Minister for Youth Welfare and Sports Development. 

    CIYF 18 was dubbed the world’s biggest youth conclave and was jointly organised by Youth Development Consortium (YDC) with Government of India and supported by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Ministry of Urban Development and Ministry of Tourism at the central and state level. 

    With over 250 events, it was a 16-day extravaganza that showcased a wide variety of talent in competitive and non-competitive cultural events, sports, martial arts, exhibitions, seminars and conferences.

    The festival engaged with more than 5 lakh youth and produced 2000 medallists at various events.  

    SRM university was declared the overall winners of the second edition with the most number of medals.
