Woman, son die in road mishap on Chennai Bypass
A woman and her son, travelling on a motorbike, died after their vehicle rammed into a stationary lorry in Porur on Friday morning.

Police said that Jamuna (47) and her son, Kamesh (19), a first-year engineering student in a private college in Avadi, were on their way to a relative’s house in Vedanthangal from their house in Otteri when the accident took place.
When the they were near the Porur flyover on the Chennai Bypass Road around 7 am, Kamesh rammed his vehicle into a lorry laden with iron scraps, parked on the roadside. The lorry driver had parked the lorry on the roadside and slept off.
Kamesh had failed to notice that the vehicle was halted, said police. The duo was not wearing helmets and suffered grievous injuries. Both were rushed to the Kilpauk Medical College and Hospital but were declared brought dead. The lorry driver, Rajasekar (37), was arrested for violating the traffic rule by parking the lorry on the road side.
