    Hindustan College organises national conference on biotechnology

    A national conference on Biotechnological advances in “Biomedical, Environmental and Agricultural technology” was organised by the department of Biotechnology, Hindustan College of Arts and Science.

    Nearly, 29 colleges participated comprising of 174 students, researches and faculties participated in this conference. This conference aimed at helping scholars to understand and acknowledge the current and future development as well as challenges in Biomedical and Green Biotechnology.

    Dr S Ilanjiam, Dean of Life Sciences, delivered the welcome address. The programme was felicitated by Dr Susan Marathandan, Director HCAS and the chief guest was introduced by Dr J Sivakumar, Assistant Professor, Department of Biotechnology. The inaugural address was given by Dr SV Kashmir Raja, executive member Indian Science Congress, Kolkata, Dean of research, SRM Institute of science and technology. 

    The conference souvenir was released by the chief guest and dignitaries. After the inauguration of the conference, scientific session began, where the plenary lecture was delivered by Dr A Gnanamani, Principal Scientist, Biological Material Laboratory, CSIR, Central Leather Research Institute, Chennai, addressed about ‘Traditional plants – Good health’.

    A total of 39 papers were presented, 13 posters was presented in this conference.
