Among the arrested, Dinesh and Naveen are students of Anna University, while Maria Antony and Hariprasad are students of a private college. The others, identified as Arun, Ganesh and Lokesh, are employees of a private firm. The incident occurred when the Governor was returning to Raj Bhavan via Kotturpuram after an event.

The four bikes caused a breach in the Governor’s security convoy on Sardar Patel Road. Police said that the bikes were coming from different places and they did not overtake the convoy with any motive. However, no one is permitted to breach a VIP’s convoy and legal action was taken against them.
