Vehicle with fake government stickers seized, owner held
The City police on Saturday night seized a private vehicle, with government stickers on front and back, and arrested the owner on charges of using fake property marks.

Police also found a handcuff and a walkie-talkie inside the vehicle, a Mahindra TUV 300 (TN 07 CQ 2005) and are investigating the owner.
The vehicle had number of stickers including Government of India, Crime and Corruption Control, Human Rights Journalists Association, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment and also a small emblem saying ‘Govt of India.’
The vehicle, which was purchased a month ago according to RTO records, first came to the attention of Abhiramapuram traffic police team. Based on information, a police team went to the vehicle owner G Ravi Shankar’s house on Friday in Abhiramapuram.
The police team booked the owner under the Motor Vehicles Act and the vehicle was brought to the station on Friday. The case was brought to the notice of senior officers, who suggested that the case should be handed over to the law and order wing.
On Saturday, the case was handed over to the law and order wing, which has registered a case under the charges of using a false property mark and cheating. Following this, Ravi Shankar was remanded in judicial custody. Police said that he claimed that he was as social worker, who fights for social justice.
