Police said that G J Moses (40), resident of Paneer Selvam Nagar, West Mambalam had two pets named Paapu (8) and Bujji (4). While Paapu is a pure Pomeranian, Bujji was Paapu’s child born out of cross breed.

On Saturday, Moses took Bujji to the Saidapet Veterinary Hospital to treat her for fever. The doctors administered an injection and she was brought back home.

“On Saturday evening, Paapu also fell ill. We took her to the same hospital and she was given antibiotics. However, she died in the night,” said Moses. During the early hours of Sunday, Bujji also died. “The dogs were very active. I have suspicion over their death. We will receive their post-mortem examination report from the veterinary hospital in Vepery in 15 days,” said Moses.

He said that he doesn’t want other pets to meet the same fate. “I want to know how they died. They are also living beings like us,” he said. Kumaran Nagar police said they have issued a CSR on the complaint and added that further action will be taken based on the autopsy report, said police.
