City gets new Law and Order Additional Commissioners in police rejig
In a fresh reshuffle in the Police Department, the State government on Tuesday brought in two new Additional Commissioners in charge of Law & Order wing for Chennai City Police force. Besides these senior officers in the rank of Inspectors Generals, there were 15 other transfers effected by the department, including new officers to head various wings of the State Police.

IG Mahesh Kumar Aggarwal, who was heading the CB-CID, will be the new Additional Commissioner in charge of South Chennai replacing incumbent officer M C Sarangan, while R Dhinakaran has been posted as Additional Commissioner (North) in place of H M Jayaram.
C Sridhar, Inspector General, North Zone, will be the new IG, CB-CID, in place of Mahesh Kumar Aggarwal. P Nagarajan, IG training has been posted as new IG in charge of the zone.
Sarangan has been transferred and posted as IG (General) at State Police Headquarters, while Jayaram will be taking the place of Dhinakaran as IG, Establishments. ADGP Shailesh Kumar Yadav, special officer, TN Police Transport Corporation, has been transferred and posted as ADGP Social Justice and Human Rights, Chennai.
In Yadav’s place, ADGP Su Arunachalam, now the special officer at Mandapam refugee camp in Ramanathapuram district, has been posted as ADGP in charge of the State Police Transport Corporation.
Sumit Sharan, IG, State Crime Records Bureau, has been transferred and posted as IG, Enforcement.
H Jayalakshmi, Superintendent of Police (Western Range), Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC), has been transferred and posted as SP, Commercial Crime Investigation in place of P C Kalyan.
P Thangadurai, Deputy Commissioner, Crime & Traffic, Salem City, has been asked to take charge as DC, L&O in the same city replacing G Subbulakshmi, who has been transferred and posted as AIG, Social Justice and Human Rights.
M Vijayalakshmi, AIG, Social Justice and Human Rights, will be the new SP of Tamil Nadu Commando Force, in place of P R Venmathi, who has been posted as the Commandant, Tamil Nadu Special Police (TNSP) at its regimental centre in Avadi.
Vandita Pandey, Commandant, TNSP, regimental centre, will be the new SP, Central Investigation Unit, Prohibition Offences, Chennai, in place of C Shymala Devi, who has been posted as DC, Crime & Traffic, Salem City.
